Synopsis: This animated delight explores what it means to believe in solidarity. Synopsis: Set in Barrancabermeja, Colombia, this emotionally rich drama tells the story of a 16-year- old torn between his loyalty to his petty gangster uncle and a local theatre group seeking to rid the community of organized crime. Mateo exudes dogged faith in the possibility of radical change—a process that can start with one vulnerable young man.

About María: Studied cinema at New York’s Tisch School and at the Sorbonne and at L’école nationale supérieure des métiers de l’image et du son (FEMIS) in Paris. Her films include the short 20 MIL (06) and Mateo (14), her feature debut.
