Wong Kar-wai was born in Shanghai. He studied graphic design at Hong Kong Polytechnic College and production with Hong Kong Television Broadcasts. His films include Days of Being Wild (90), Chungking Express (94), In the Mood for Love (00) and The Grandmaster (13).
